26/7/2010 --> 1/8/2010

Well, I noticed that I lost some of committee members from my last meeting. I think it should not happen since the first day of meeting I already mentioned not to quit in half way. OK, agenda for the last meeting (for those who haven't gave up the program but could not attend the meeting, THANKS:)

Sponsorship
Two of our sponsorship requests have been rejected : Brands and tunehotel. Currently, we left Nestle. Norizan and her group try their best to approach other tunnels such as donation from Datuk and look for other company as well. Instead of that, we switch our focus into university support: Tamu gadang, PMUMS.... Prize will be reduced to cash prize + hamper if we failed to collect funds.

Technical
We haven't confirmed the venue. Lee Sue and Lee Yu are still following up. Others is working out on borrowing chess set and chess clocks from Yayasan Sabah and Unit Sukan UMS. Hope to have feedbacks next week.

Publicity
Planning on roadshow that last for 1 week

Urusetia
People from the unit seem to be disappear. Please attend the meeting next week PLEASE

NEWS: 18/7/2010 -> 25/7/2010

We have our first meeting for new semester on last tuesday. Welcome back to UMS all our committee members. However, the response of meeting not quite good due to the clash time with your class. In our last meeting, we discussed about our activity progression. So far, we only achieved not really 20% for the whole program. I hope you can spend more effort in your own post as our activity left 2 month for preparation. Here is some agenda for our last meeting:

MEETING TIME
We are looking for a suitable meeting time for our committee members. Since the largest population in our committee members is came from Forestry school, we cannot make it on tuesday. How about thursday nitez? This week meeting will be on thursday. Please attend the meeting.

SPONSORSHIP
So far, we have made 2 sponsorship request to big company such as brand's and Nestle. We do not have any feedbacks from them. Norizan is working out on it. However, if we failed to get any sponsorship from outside, we have to reduce our competition scope including invite "oversea" participants and prizes. Anyway, YAN YING has been elected as the new treasurer to overlook our finacial part. Congratulations.

VENUE APPLICATION
We have failed to apply DKP A1 & A2 as our competition venue because of booking by other parties for whole month weekend. LEE YU and LEE SUE are working out on applying SKTM foyer.

For your information, we will start doing any promotion on activity on 1 Sept 2010. We hope that we can make it successfully. This could be my last activity in UMS as my study is getting heavy and heavy. I know you all have the same situation with me but I'm being responsible for myself, you all and the activity. So, I have to fight to the end. Hope you all are with me, thanks!

Spirit re-ignited

Firstly, I would like to apologize for the whole team because I didn't update the blog. Start from today, I will start participated again the work of our chess open tournament. Currently I try to figure out our problems. Here is the list of our main obstacle:

1. Budget insufficient - currently we have only RM 2000 for our funds. It totally no enough for our competition which required roughly RM 8000++. I wish the sponsor team (protocol) will try to do their best and I'm fully involving in looking for sponsor during this holiday.

2. Low spirit - It's hard to work as individual to success the activity. I hope everyone should work together. If u have any extra time, please looks for any potential sponsors. I will held online meeting soon which involved some high posts.
